Abstract

The present Thematic Section, Financing, Career and Teaching Work in Higher Education in the Context of Neoconservatism and the Financialization of Capital, brings together six articles that present analyses of the crisis situation that has manifested in recent years in capitalist countries, particularly in countries of Latin America, with the advance of neoconservatism and the far right. In this scenario, there is an expansion of technology, the adoption of digital platforms, EdTech, and Artificial Intelligence (AI) in all spaces of social life, directly affecting education policies, with an emphasis on higher education, with repercussions in the financing and work of teachers who act at this level of education.

Vera Lucia Jacob Chaves é Professora Titular do Instituto de Ciências da Educação atuando como docente permanente no Programa de Pós-Graduação em Educação da Universidade Federal do Pará (UFPA). É pesquisadora de produtividade do CNPq. Coordenadora Geral da Rede Universitas/Br e do Grupo de Estudos e Pesquisas sobre Educação Superior - GEPES.  integra o Conselho Fiscal da FINEDUCA.

Luiz Fernando Reis é Doutor em Políticas Públicas e Formação Humana pela Universidade do Estado do Rio de Janeiro (UERJ), mestre em Educação pela Universidade Estadual de Maringá (UEM) e licenciado em Pedagogia pela Universidade Estadual do Oeste do Paraná (Unioeste). Professor do curso de graduação em Enfermagem e do Programa de Pós-graduação em Educação da Universidade Estadual do Oeste do Paraná (Unioeste - campus de Cascavel). Membro da Rede de Pesquisas Universitas/BR e do Grupo de Estudos e Pesquisas em Política Educacional e Social – GEPPES (Unioeste/CNPq).
