Dance as a theme of knowledge production in Physical Education

The objective of this review study was to identify and analyze the production of national journals, published in scientific articles form about dance as a topic of knowledge production in Physical Education. It was held a search was carried out for studies published in each volume and the number of journals in the period from 2010 to 2021. Among the 200 studies investigated, most belonged to the Sociocultural subarea, in which the south-southeast axis was highlighted in terms of the institutional link of the principal authors identified. International cooperation with European Community countries were also identified. We conclude that, although dance is widely rich, and there is an increase of studies in relation to the previous decade, it is necessary to increase its ballast in the production of knowledge in the area, aiming at even more research that deepens its theoretical framework, in order to contribute to the valorization of this as a legitimate area of knowledge Physical Education.
