Abstract

This article analyzes the social memory of the 1970 World Cup, their editions and forgetfulness in the reorganization and the feedback of the present tradition in search of the national identity. We question the current dominant image that consecrate the “geniality” and the “art” of the brazilian soccer team as responsible for the conquered of the Word Cup title. The analysis in this study remind us the roll of the physical education forgotten in the present, by interviewing one of the protagonists of the event Lamartine Pereira Da Costa on the pioneer project of physical preparation of the Selection of 70.
