This is the book review of A memória da Copa de 70: esquecimentos e lembranças do futebol na construção da identidade nacional. The aim of this study is analyze the concepts of memory and identity in the construction of national football, focused on the narratives produced by the national press, the newspapers O Globo and Jornal do Brasil, during the World Cup in 1998 and 2002 related to the conquest of the World Cup 1970, as well as interviews with Lamartine Pereira da Costa, Mario Zagallo, Gerson de Oliveira Nunes and Carlos Alberto Parreira, subjects who experienced winning the third championshipDownloads
