The "Education Physica" in playgrounds at São Paulo (1935-1938)

The present study examines the role of physical education in the Playgrounds of São Paulo (1935-1938), considering its inclusion in the project of cultural diffusion from the Department of Culture of São Paulo, aiming to transform the educational and cultural reality of the country. Finally, there is a physical education taken as a mediator historical knowledge and culturally determined, marked by the need to reconcile the teaching gymnastics to folklore, informing the population of a knowledge which would be forgotten.
