Abstract: This study is justified by contributing with
modifications in the syllabus of Physical Education
course – teachers’ formation process – Physical
Education and Sports Center / Federal University of
Santa Maria, in the sense of the qualification of future
Physical Education teachers’ teaching methods,
specially the ones who will work in schools. It aims at
analyzing if teachers who work at CEFD have clear
ideas about the theoretical-methodological knowledge
used in the preparation / development of their
pedagogical practices. It is used semi-structured
interview in the paradigmatic scheme presented by
Sanchez Gamboa (2002), and these teachers’
ontological assumptions were also analyzed. Among
other aspects, it was realized that they are not sure
about the theoretical-methodological knowledge used
in their pedagogical actions since there were
incoherence in their conceptions, what reflects directly
in Physical Education at school practice.
