In this text, I outline some scenarios and working hypotheses for a research program whose purpose is to suggest development paths alternative to the pedagogical theory of Physical Education based on the dynamics of social reflexivity. To account for this agenda, I structured the argument on three dialogic fronts. In the first one, I restore some epistemological and social constraints that justify the emergence of reflexive PE. Next, I discuss some of the pillars of the theory of reflexive modernization and identify those I believe to be focused on the area of PE. Finally, I reaffirm human movement as an object of PE and suggest the notion of “movement biography” as an emic category of study of the biopsychosocial cultural dimensions of movement.
