Introduction: The control of Tuberculosis (TB) in Brazil is a public health priority, with Basic Health Care (BHC) being an essential part of this process. To control TB, interprofessional and collaborative work ensures trained professionals and effective health care actions. Objective: Analyze knowledge and reality experienced by professionals regarding TB Control and deepen disease control strategies in BHC. Method: This is a study with an exploratory descriptive approach carried out in Serafina Corrêa, Rio Grande do Sul, Brazil, with health professionals and managers who work in the municipality's BHC (n=85). Data collection was carried out between October and November 2022, using a semi-structured questionnaire adapted, validated and suitable for TB care. Quantitative and qualitative analyzes were performed. Results: 72 professionals participated in the study. Of these, 66.6% report the need for the patient to seek Basic Health Unit (UBS) more than three times to obtain the diagnosis. Furthermore, 65.2% of participants stated that they were not qualified to care for individuals with TB at their place of service and 43% said they had never been trained in TB control actions. Conclusion: The study highlighted the need to promote continuing education actions in BHC and the availability of products that meet the demands of health professionals in the management of individuals with TB. The process of developing products, with and for health professionals, respecting the local reality, affected the way in which the team's knowledge was built, strengthening interprofessional and collaborative work. The products served as support for work processes, as well as mediators in the learning process of health professionals, highlighting the importance of education practices and interprofessional practices in TB control.
