A semiotic theory of physical-sporting activities is formulated here, in a panchronic and uniformitarian portrait, with basis on a series of postulates of inductive and prospective nature, and of presuppositions, which offer support to a gesture-verbal theory, in a situationally given context. The social group is taken as the nuclear cell of origin, development and consolidation of new ways of production, reproduction and interpretation of symbolic activities. One assumes, by hypothesis, that there is a continuum between the polar dimension arbitrariness/motivation of the sign. The unities of meaning are postulated as objects of the analysis. The text contains suggestions for a basic program on methodology of research in the field of semiotics of physical-sporting activities and social representations. Anchoring and objectivation are proposed as analytical tools in Physical Education, as well as new alternative of research are advanced. A series of open questions are formulated.Downloads
