The present article shows, based in the ethnographic perspective, the baseball in Brazil and its links with the Japanese traditions. This discussion shows the practise of the Brazilian baseball is to comprehend as the Japanese descendants, who came and settled in Brazil, they adapted their characteristic life style to a physical and cultural space so different to that left in the east. The conclusions indicate that in despite of the initial association with the Japanese culture the basebal is today a "mestizo" modality, once that there is every time more Japanese descendent who practise it.Downloads
