The collection of Steven J. And David L. Jackson Andrews' Sport, Culture and Advertising: Identities, commodities and the politics of representation " includes a series of articles investigating sports-related advertisements. Acknowledging advertising as a vehicle for production and reproduction of imaginary national sports, the authors highlight the political representation of ethnic, gender, social class, disability and identity in different contexts of research guided by its relations with sport consuming. The texts make contributions on current issues and indicate that the use of sports advertising also reinforces the social domination.
