APPROXIMATIONS BETWEEN PHYSICAL EDUCATION AND HISTORICAL-CRITICAL PEDAGOGY: AN ANALYSIS OF BIBLIOGRAPHIC PRODUCTION IN 1996-2019

This study aimed to analyze Brazilian knowledge production on historical-critical pedagogy and Physical Education in 1996-2019. We found 163 works, from which we selected the following aspects: 1) Quantitative leaps in knowledge production; 2) The debate within scientific events; 3) More prolific institutions and regions; 4) Main supervisors of theses and dissertations; 5) Most cited works/authors; 6) Relations among authors. We found that production increased progressively after 2012 but cooperation relations are still restricted. We concluded that, despite recent advances, new ties and partnerships must be built for the collective advancement of Physical Education in the light of this pedagogical theory.
