Sport at school. Gymnastics. Physical educationAbstract
This work deals with two basic questions: At what moment did sport became part of the school environment? And, under which purpose we can think about the sport practices and the gymnastics / physical education at school? The basic assumption is that the same elements which shaped the inclination for sport practice and which appear in the social context of the second part of the nineteen-century and beginning of the twenty century in Brazil continuum to support pro gymnastics discussion at school. These elements are based in an increasing process of individual differentiation, in a necessary refinement of actions and in a comprehensive self-discipline. In this sense, sport and gymnastics / physical education are not antagonistic but complementary.Downloads
