Scientific production: reflections of assessment in postgraduate programs in physics

Abstract

Based on the analysis of the scientific literature in graduate programs in the field of Physics at the Universities Federal de Minas Gerais (UFMG), Pernambuco (UFPE) and Rio de Janeiro (UFRJ), in the period 2007-2009 it used methodological triangulation to contemplate easing of quantitative methods, bibliometric and scientometric for scientific production, with qualitative and interpretive content analysis, for interviews. The main results found the existence of incentive instruments and control of scientific production in these institutions, the predominance of teachers’ work published in journals that are well regarded by the scientific community and are well ranked, according to the classification system of agency promotion (Qualis B); concern predominance of evaluation of scientific literature, in a purely quantitative, and policy assessment CAPES the time that encourages, pushes researchers through documents to a context of scientific productivity.
