Notes on the area of Executive Secretariat in the Brazilian context: scientific identity and recognition

The fragility of an autonomous scientific identity and the recognition by the Brazilian agencies to promote research are challenges for the area of Executive Secretariat in contemporaneity. Thus, the objective of this work is to identify characteristics in the current scientific production of its researchers who aim at areas of framing and evaluation by CNPq and by CAPES and an autonomous design in their identity. This is an exploratory research, taking as an object of analysis the articles published in journals in the last four-year evaluation (2013-2016) by master professors and Ph.D. professors linked to the Bachelor's Degree courses in Executive Secretariat of public institutions in Brazil. In the results, we present the distribution of masters and PhDs by the Institution, the publication journals, the areas of coverage and production themes addressed and how this information points to the structuring of the Executive Secretariat's field as Applied Social Sciences, such as the large area; Administration, Accounting Sciences and Tourism as an area of evaluation; and Administration as subarea. Thus, it was possible to conclude that a knowledge production of the current area reflects an identity based on its práxis. The use of results is considered as a starting point for addressing the institutionalization of the area from a conceptual/cognitive view and raising issues about the paradigmatic aspects of the area.Downloads
