The presumption of innocence is presented in criminal proceedings as evidence and treatment rule of the accused. Nevertheless, this constitutional fundamental right has two other dimensions, perhaps less widespread: procedural, establishing limits to the dissemination of news in the press about ongoing cases; extra-procedural, which prohibits statements of anticipated guilt by public authorities with the mass media. The article ses the doctrine and jurisprudence of the European Court of Human Rights (ECHR) on this important issue.
