This text presents an analysis program that allows revisiting knowledge production in the field of Sociology of Football in Brazil from a critical and reflective perspective. The manuscript was divided into two sections. The first section presents some theoretical and methodological questions that were key to our attempt to the exercise “genealogical digging” of lineages of Brazilian Sociology of Football. The second section provides a general description of some analytical peculiarities on the four “intellectual families” of Brazilian Sociology of Football we found.
