Interactive digital media and creative economy: an exploration of the Brazilian crowdfunding platforms

Internet crowdfunding, a collective financing system that allows people from all the web to contribute with a project, arises and grows fast. Even though it is a recent phenomenon, in Brazil there are more than 59 listed crowdfunding platforms with different goals and rules. Thus, this article analyzes the crowdfunding platforms in Brazil, their formats and rules, in order to observe their characteristics. The two platforms that contain the larger number of projects were selected for a deeper description and analysis.Downloads
