Os corpos e o jornal
Keywords:
Social control. Journalistic way of individuals objectification. Discourse analysis.Abstract
This text describes the journalistic way of individuals objectification. It is situated in a narrow band of time, between the end of XIXth century and the beginning of XXth century, where it explores, with the tools of the discourse analysis, a corpus of about 200 pieces of texts published by the press of Porto Alegre of that time. The discourse analysis shows how journalism kidnaps the bodies and corrects them in the page, pointing toward the possibility that the news could be an instrument of social control.
