Culture and bordering identity. Media and border. Local media printed.Abstract
The phenomenon of border demands a complex exercise in order to be analized, a necessary condition to understand the questions that involve happening social practices, specially in the conurbated and half-conurbated urban areas. Through the 'reading' of the local print media it is possible to identify grounding elements of a culture forged in the contact surfaces between distinct nations that inhabit the same surroundings, where (undeniably) there is a constructed identity distinguished from other not-frontiersmen’s identities. This paper aims to bring some indexes present in local periodicals of the national borders of Brazil with its neighbors - Uruguay, Argentina, Paraguay and Bolivia -, to continue the debate on which are the main “visible” characteristics in manifestations of the social commitments, shapers of the culture and the ' spirit ' of the place.
