STYLE E THEME OF THE INTERNATIONAL FOLKLORE GROUP “OS GAÚCHOS”(1959-1966)

The aim of this paper is to analyze the theme and the dance style adopted by the International Folklore Group Os Gaúchos, fundamentally at the beginning of its formation (1959-1966). It based on cultural history and uses as methodological tools interviews of oral history and documentary analysis. The identity of the group was being produced from the theming of Latin American culture and "modern" style. We realize how complex are the dynamics seen allow both the production of something coming from a specific context and its recreation and reinterpretation.
