This study presents the research and development of the visual identity for the journal Em Questão, published by the Programa de Pós-graduação em Comunicação e Informação of the Universidade Federal do Rio Grande do Sul. We understand that identity comprehends all the visual aspects of the journal. Thus, in addition to the new visual signature design, we present in this study the creation of the new graphic design for submitting articles. Based on authors from Science Communication and Visual Design, we argue for the importance of graphic planning for a better usability of scientific journals and a better visibility of the published texts. The theoretical foundation acquired and the interviews with the editorial team guided the decisions made regarding the project and provided the definition of a visual identity oriented toward the needs of the reader of Em Questão.Downloads
