The swift pace of technological advancement and the increasing complexity of business have emphasized the importance of Knowledge Management as a strategic differentiator in organizations. KM aims to capture, store, share and apply knowledge within an organization, ensuring that valuable information is accessible and used effectively. In this context, KM maturity assessment tools can help companies understand the current situation and identify existing gaps in Knowledge Management within organizations, as well as discover areas that need more efforts and measure the results of these efforts by conducting regular assessments. Thus, this article aims to map the development of scientific publications related to the assessment of knowledge management maturity in organizations, from 2016 to 2025. To this end, the research uses the bibliometric methodology, based on data extracted from the Scopus and Web of Science databases. Statistical graphs and the VOSviewer software were used to analyze publication trends over the period, co-authorship networks, co-occurrence of terms and most relevant sources. The results reveal thematic trends, annual scientific production quantity, countries that published the most in the period, main authors and journals, as well as the main affiliated institutions. Thus, the analysis carried out in this research can contribute to a better understanding of the trends and gaps in the literature, providing subsidies for the development of a theoretical basis related to the theme for future research.
