Este texto apresenta uma análise sobre a temática das relações étnico-raciais e alguns de seus atravessamentos, como racismo, identidade, exclusão, cultura e artes negras, a partir dos textos publicados pela Revista Brasileira de Estudos da Presença, ao longo dos seus 15 anos de publicações. A discussão buscou perspectivar o modo como a revista implementou tal tarefa na relação com as discussões, teorizações, embates e lutas contemporâneas sobre o tema. A problematização foi tramada a partir dos conceitos de identidade e racismo por intermédio do pensamento de Sueli Carneiro, Grada Kilomba, Achille Mbembe e Frantz Fanon. Intui-se que as produções acadêmicas que tematizam as relações étnico-raciais podem desempenhar um papel crucial tanto na reprodução quanto no combate ao racismo.
