This article seeks to understand in the work of Gilles Lipovetsky the relationship between media and autonomy in postmodernity. The purpose of the paper is motivated by reflections about Guy Debord’s society of the spectacle and his interpretations about the impossibility of free thinking / living of the person who, in relation to the spectacle / media, always maintains a relationship of submission, passivity, erasing its singularity. Through Lipovestky’s studies, this work intends to think of the concept of autonomy as a possible active element in the relationship between subject and media, or subject and spectacle. To structure the ideas of Lipovestky in relation to the concepts of autonomy, it is necessary to resume the reflections of the author in three different concepts / themes: hypermodernity, studies on the processes of fashion, and the era of post-moral. The matter of media or the spectacle is transversal in the author's work, and is reflected in several of his texts. This study will make a snip of what is considered more relevant to foster the analysis of the proposed objective.Downloads
