The present article uses as base the Charles S. Peirce's semiotic theory and the thesis developed for Lúcia Santaella in Matrizes da Linguagem and Pensamento (2001) - that deals with the respective ways of relations established between determined types of signs (icon, index and symbol) and the distinct forms of representation of the visual signs (representative, not-representative and figurative) - to present a metodological passage that aims at to assist in the analyses of visual signs in the televisive system. With this, this paper demonstrates how these theories can be used as fundament for studying signs of other natures.Downloads
