Abstract

This paper presents a contribution for air temperature measurement inside buildings. The objective is to show the influence due to long wave radiation in the measurement and that this effect can be minimized by a protection with a good radiant barrier. This protection can be made by using a PET bottle enveloped by aluminum paper, which has the effect of a barrier for long wave radiation. It was also possible to prove that the metallic globe of the globe thermometer can be replaced by a plastic globe material, without alteration on the results.
