From the reading of letters and texts by Jerzy Grotowski, Eugenio Barba and Constantin Stanislavski, this text discusses the different understandings of the author about Grotowski's work. By comparing different passages from the writings of Grotowski and Stanislavski, this text elucidates and discusses, from a historical viewpoint, some elements in the genealogy of the work of these authors, including the affiliation of Grotowski in relation to Stanislavski. Finally, the work of the actor is presented in the panorama of concepts such as memory and body-energy, both intrinsic to the legacy of these directorpedagogues.
