Abstract

This article investigates some aspects of the dance and performance group GRUA Gentlemens de Rua’s creation processes in the period of 2020 pandemic crisis, observing artistic procedures and processes that intersect with audiovisual practices and the use of cyberspace, such as actions of resistance and reinvention. For this, several documents of the group’s creation process (projects, notes, scripts, films, websites, etc.) are analyzed. The theoretical foundation is structured from the critical theory of creative processes by Cecilia Almeida Salles. The theoretical framework proposes dialogues with Edgar Morin, Zigmunt Bauman, Arlindo Machado and Vincent Colapietro, among others.

Author Biographies

Wagner Miranda Dias, Pontifícia Universidade Católica de São Paulo – PUC-SP, São Paulo/SP, Brasil

Doctoral student and master in communication and semiotics at Pontifícia Universidade Católica de São Paulo
(PUC_SP) with research on the processes of creation in theatre, dance and performance, being supervised
by Prof. Dr.ª Cecília Almeida Salles. He has a degree in Theater and Visual Arts and a specialty in Art History,
Theory and Criticism from Faculdade Paulista de Artes.
He is an actor trained at Casa das Artes de Laranjeiras (CAL) in Rio de Janeiro.
He is a visual artist, theater director, actor, performer, set designer and costume designer.
He is currently a guest professor at the Masters in Creation Processes at the Research Center for Arts and
Communication (CIAC), at the University of Algarve (UALg).

Cecilia Almeida Salles fez mestrado e doutorado em Linguística Aplicada aos Estudos de Línguas pela Pontifícia Universidade Católica de São Paulo (PUC-SP). Pós-doutorado pelo Departamento de Cinema, Rádio e Televisão da Escola de Comunicação e Artes de Universidade de São Paulo (USP). É professora titular dos Programas de Pós-Graduação em Comunicação e Semiótica e de Literatura e Crítica Literária da PUC-SP e coordenadora do Grupo de Pesquisa em Processos de Criação.
