Abstract

Inter Faces: creation processes for artistic performance enhanced by augmented reality – In view of the poetic use of augmented reality, this article presents links between performance and augmented reality technology with self-referenced digital content, supported by the activist artistic proposal Inter Faces. For a reflection on creative processes, the artistic works body and Parade to Hope are compared. With this analysis we intend to present the challenges and solutions found during the creation process of Inter Faces, seeking to contribute to the debate on the expansion, popularization and poetization of augmented reality in performance.

Professor Assistente, Arte Multimédia BA, FBAUL - Faculdade de Belas Artes, Universidade de Lisboa. Mónica Mendes é designer, professora assistente no curso de Artes Multimídia da Faculdade de Belas Artes da Universidade de Lisboa e pesquisadora em Artes Digitais. É doutora em Mídia Digital, possui mestrado em Comunicação Educacional Multimídia e é graduada em Design de Comunicação. Ela também é membro fundador do altLab hackerspace da AZ Labs. Anteriormente, trabalhou em design de exposições e livros como designer no Atelier B2 e como consultora de identidade corporativa e design de interface para lancer free-lancer. Como artista e pesquisadora de mídia digital, Mónica tem desenvolvido e apresentado o ARTiVIS em diversas conferências, exposições e demonstrações públicas, como USE (R), Artech, City One Minutes Film, Futureplaces, AZ Labs Hackmeets, Pop Up,

Anselmo Cardoso de Paiva é professor associado do Departamento de Ciência da Computação da Universidade do Maranhão, Brasil. Ele obteve um doutorado na PUC-Rio, Brasil, em 2001. Seus interesses de pesquisa incluem computação gráfica, sistemas de informação geográfica, sistema de imagens médicas e sistemas de informação.
