Keywords:
Public space. Media. Cultural consumption.Abstract
The aim of this article is to discuss the contexts and appropriations of the public space, specifically, the festive events that occur on Copacabana’s beach. To analyze these events we look for the debates that articulate the disciplines like culture, economy and politics in a dialogue between public administration, private corporations and cultural consumption that appear to be fundamental to comprehend the complexity in which this discussion is based. The variety of entities and the types of events that occur on the beach represent the main reason we look for an understanding of how culture, entertainment, economy and consumption are linked in the canary of contemporary societyDownloads
