Abstract

Based. on a sociological perspective, using conceptual tools of post-structuralistlpost-modernist social theory, the text sets two current meanings attribudet to pedagogical constructivism against each other. They are: 1) the meaning which sees this practice as an "evolution" and 2)the one which considers it a "fad". Since it treats it as a discoursive practice, in the Foucaultian sense,
involved inlinvolving power-knowledge relations, it analyses: 1) Brazilian public
education; 2) the child of constructivism; and 3) the place of fathers/mothers in
constructivism; concluding that it is in faet high time to desconstruct (psycho) pedagogical constructivism.
