The centrality of culture: notes on the cultural revolutions of our times
Keywords:

The text begins by looking again at the centrality of culture - the enormous expansion of everything which has to do with culture in the second half of the twentieth century and its constitutive position today in all aspects of social life. Secondly, we consider the conceptual and theoretical aspects - the expanded analytic and explanatory power which the concept "culture" has acquired in social theory. Finally, we take these considerations back to the moment of the cultural circuit - regulation - which is the particular focus of the book, and look at culture in the context of the contradictory tendencies and directions of contemporary social change into the new millennium.
