Middle class families and school: former basis for an object in construction

Abstract

This paper summarizes the results of some recent researches on the familyschool
relationships in middle class environment in an attempt to amplify and clarify this field of analysis and to provi de theoretical anchorage for the research on intelectual families, wich is being developed by the author. For such task, the text tries to answer, in its first part, two preliminary questions: what are middle classes? Why is it important to study the middle classes?
