This article characterizes the research output on Construction Management and Economics, which is one of the main sub-areas of Built Environment Technology. This study was based on the analysis of five editions of the National Conference on the Built Environment Technology, carried out between 1993 and 2002. The main research themes, the academic qualification of authors, and the number of articles produced, classified according to the type of study and the research methods adopted, are presented. Moreover, based on the analysis of citations, the types of publications, their language, and the most cited references are pointed out.
