Este artigo apresenta uma discussão sobre a fotografia enquanto estratégia de pesquisa-intervenção a partir de três considerações. A primeira analisa os contrapontos entre políticas inventivas e recognitivas e, a partir disto, faz uma análise da potencialidade da pesquisa-intervenção enquanto forma de tensionar modelos científicos baseados mais em resultados do que em processos. A segunda analisa a hibridicidade epistemológica da fotografia – que sustenta uma condição icônica, indiciária e simbólica a um só tempo – podendo ser capaz de embaralhar formas instituídas de ver e agir, instaurando um “resultado problema”, o que pode ser interessante para o campo da pesquisa-intervenção. A terceira aborda os processos de individuação da fotografia à luz do pensamento simondoniano, discutindo sua metaestabilidade e potencialidade de desdobramentos em campo após se individuar como uma imagem fisicamente produzida. A discussão se articula a partir de alguns relatos de um projeto de pesquisa-intervenção em um hospital psiquiátrico, no qual usuários e equipe foram convidados a fotografar e produzir uma exposição com as imagens.
