This paper examines the meanings and senses of “body education” in Brazilian scientific literature, given their more common use in recent years. Through systematic review in distinct databases, 51 articles were analyzed. Its use has been found to occur mainly in the humanities and social sciences, with emphasis on historical works. There are also diffuse meanings and senses according to the studies’ theoretical support. In conclusion, there is a concept about the term even though at an early theorizing stage.
