Computer Science is a relatively new and dynamic scientific area. It interacts in an interdisciplinary way with other research fields. In Brazil, there are currently more than 45 academic Computer Science graduate programs. These programs present a rapid growth in terms of bibliographic production and academic training. This paper presents a description of the academic production of Computer Science graduate programs evaluated by the Coordination for the Improvement of Higher Level Personnel (CAPES) in the triennia 2004-2006 and 2007-2009. As result of our analysis, we note that in the Brazilian Computer Science area: (i) the bibliographical productions are published mainly as full papers in proceedings of conferences (approximately 54%) and the bibliographical productions are published as full papers in scientific journals (approximately 14%); and (ii) professors supervise master’s thesis, supervised undergraduate final year projects (both approximately 30%), and undergraduate research projects (approximately 21%).Downloads
