: In this article we present the results of research on the phenomenon of post-truth and its implications for information science as an object of study. Different views on the phenomenon are presented: those that fit it in the perspective of a cultural or political phenomenon, and those that correlate it with other phenomena or factors. In the following section we present the way in which information science has historically defined its research objects, as well as the theories and methods for studying them. From the confrontation between the two discussions, it is proposed the need for adaptations in the scope of information science, for the development of categories of analysis that can adequately study the phenomenon of post-truth: not as a technological or human problem, but as a process of the order of culture.Downloads
