Delsarte and Laban: the origins and principles of an aesthetic revolution

Abstract

This text establishes a link between some principles of the work of François Delsarte and Rudolf Laban, concluding that what identifies them is closely connected with the research method, which is based on the observation of human nature and human beings in real life and in art. It also shows that the principles of the method proposed by Delsarte are part of the contemporary scene and of different forms of pedagogy connected to this very same scene.

Author Biography

Sônia Machado de Azevedo, Escola Superior de Artes Célia Helena - ESCH

Doutora em Artes, Mestre e Bacharel pelo Departamento de Artes Cênicas – ECA/USP com Formação em Dança Moderna, pela Escola Arte do Movimento. Atriz, diretora, dramaturga, dançarina e professora de teatro, autora de textos teatrais, romances, contos e poesias. Escreveu O Papel do Corpo no Corpo do Ator e colaborou com O Pós-Modernismo, e O Pós-Dramático ambos da Ed. Perspectiva, entre outros. Assinou artigos teóricos em publicações especializadas, entre as quais a Revista de Comunicações e Artes da USP, a Revista Sala Preta e em publicação da EDUSP: Diálogos com o Orientador e Anais da Abrace - Associação Brasileira de Pós-Graduação em Artes Cênicas. É membro do Conselho Editorial da Revista Urdimento - Udesc/SC e da Revista Olhares, da ESCH/SP. Teve seu primeiro romance lançado em 2007: "Odete Inventa o Mar ". Atualmente coordena o curso de graduação da Escola Superior de Artes Célia Helena e os cursos de Pós-Graduação. É professora de Práticas Corporais. Coordena também os cursos de Pós-Graduação
