Abstract

This study is based on the identification of the subject and his/her social place in the performance, in order to connect subject, body, and gesture at the performance. This linkage becomes possible from the discursive analysis of the sixth dimension of the performance activity: an update of Schechner's theory of performance, in conjunction with the postulates of Merleau-Ponty about the perception, and Pêcheux’s discourse. As a result, we propose a material analysis of the sensory experimentation, emphasizing the bond between perception, discourse, art, and feeling in the subject's body.
