Os motivos tractarianos: notas introdutórias sobre o problema do sentido

A idéia de Wittgenstein sobre o silêncio instala-se na fenomenologia da linguagem como aquilo que é, pela linguagem, inalcançável. Não é a fenomenologia da comunicação que condiciona a experiência deste silêncio. Não estava em jogo, para o Jovem Wittgenstein, algo do âmbito da nossa competência para expressar (ou silenciar sobre) os conteúdos da nossa experiência. O silêncio atua ao nível da possibilidade de descrevermos a experiência do sentido da linguagem. Esta foi a conclusão apresentada por Wittgenstein no Tractatus (1921), um dos textos filosóficos mais comentados deste século. Este ensaio pretende discutir alguns pontos-chave dos motivos wittgensteinianos, significativos, sobretudo, para aqueles que se ocupam das questões filosóficas da comunicação.
