Representations of feminine work in telenovela: contributions to a telefictional gender analysis
Keywords:
Feminine Representations. Encoding/Decoding. Telenovela.Abstract
This paper aims to discuss the representation of women in telenovelas from the category "work". We propose a discussion of the analysis methodology, which is based on a rereading of the model encoding/ decoding of Stuart Hall (2003a) performed by Ronsini et al. (2009). The results show that despite a relative appreciation of women's work, the plots remain to portray the sexual division of labor from the model man-public sphere and woman-private sphere.
