Keywords:
Mass. Mass culture. Communication theory.Abstract
Since its very beginnings, the concept of mass has been close to the theory of communication alone or in several idiomatic expressions. The present article intends to study the history of such concept as well as to think about its possible uses in the present stage of development of communication technologies. Therefore we shall propose a dialog with the many uses the word had gained throughout its history, whethear used by functionalists of critics, as well as to bring new perspectives for a current reflection of its use.Downloads
