The pedagogical statute of the media: some issues of analysis

Abstract

The text discusses a proposal for analyzing television products, guided by he question: What kind of relationship can be established between the complexity of elements of television language and the constitution of subjects who should be formed and informed in one or another way? Assuming that the means of communication construct meaning and decisively affect the constitution of social subjects, it proposes a methodology of investigation, the objective of which is to map and compare the different language strategies in the construction of audiovisual products. With this, a "pedagogical apparatus" (dispositivo pedagógico) of the media, especially television, is characterized.
