Abstract

In this document
I collect various approaches to the establishment of the competences
that mathematics teachers should develop in Elementary School. To do
this, first I analyze the role of the notion of competence as part of teachers’
education. Next, I focus on the European guidelines that have been used
for the design of new qualifications aimed at the teachers’ education, with
special attention to the Spanish case. Finally, I analyze different papers in
research focused on the area of mathematics.
