Social Ties, Emotions, and Subjectivity in the School, from Norbert Elias

Abstract

The objective of the article is to think about the relationships of meaning between social ties, emotional experiences, and the constitution of subjectivities in the school plot based on the Figurational Sociology of Norbert Elias. From a socio-educational point of view, part of the results of a qualitative investigation are shared in which young people from secondary schools in the province of Buenos Aires were interviewed. The recovered statements are analyzed in the light of categories such as figurations, affective valences, established and outsiders relationships, in order to identify how trajectories marked by social pain are at the basis of the constitution of denied subjectivities.
