The aim of this study was to analyse the perceptions of managers affiliated with a Regional Education Coordination Office in the state of Rio Grande do Sul (RS), regarding the training process of teachers for understanding and implementing the National Common Curricular Base (BNCC). This qualitative research involved interviews with three managers of basic education. The dialogues, analysed through Discursive Textual Analysis, reveal that the training process exhibited a disconnect between the school context and the process of understanding and developing an emancipatory curriculum. Key issues identified include lack of collective spaces for teacher development; the imposition of changes without sufficient reflection on teaching practice; and a disjunction between theory and practice. Nevertheless, the managers acknowledged the importance of teacher mobilization.
