Le présent article analyse et compare deux films brésiliens contemporains dans l'intention d'approfondir la réflexion à propos de différentes manières dont le cinéma s'est emparé des frontières amazonienne situées dans des régions habitées par des peuples indigènes. Dans le documentaire intitulé Terres, dont la plasticité est originale et minutieuse, les frontières sont vouées à être oblitérées par des interactions à la fois humaines et environnementales. Sa "poétique de l'imbrication" semble, toutefois, renier les tensions géopolitiques présentes dans l'histoire des lieux représentés dans le film. À son tour, le film Corumbiara subordonne le souci esthétique à l'engagement vis-à-vis des droits des populations indigènes, mobilisant les outils cinématographiques afin d'imposer une frontière aux avancées des propriétaires fonciers vers les terres habitées par des populations autochtones. Le cinéma, de Terres à Corumbiara, est affirmé comme l'un des agents qui constituent le territoire, plus précisément celui des terres indigènes en Amazonie.
