Health promotion for LGBTQIAPN+ collectives: fragments of experience(s) in countryside of Rio Grande do Sul

This experience report is situated within the context of a Health Outpatient Clinic located in countryside of the state of Rio Grande do Sul, Brazil. The service provides care and support to LGBTQIAPN+ individuals. With a focus on health promotion, activities were carried out through social media engagement and training sessions with administrators of public mainstream schools. These initiatives aimed to design and implement health promotion and prevention strategies specifically targeted at the LGBTQIAPN+ community within the framework of a specialized public health service. The methodological approach was grounded in participant observation and action research. Throughout the process, practices were observed to align with a clinical perspective, within which a collective demand from users emerged. Consequently, the intervention was, and continues to be, situated within a collective framework and interdisciplinary collaboration, while also reinforcing shared conceptual understandings among health and education professionals involved in the outpatient care setting.
